Everyday Paleo Diet Cuts Out Fabricated Foods For Health, Stealth
The Paleolithic diet that has been much talked about recently has many adherents, and a few controversial issues. In the weight-loss world and the health care professions, everyone, it seems has an opinion. The everyday Paleo diet is worth considering.
If this is all new to you, the basic premise is that if you eat what the cavemen and women ate, you will not only lose weight, you will free yourself of all the ailments and diseases common to our age. By sticking to foods nature creates, eschewing all the over-processed foods made in factories, dairies and bakeries, your health and well-being will greatly increase.
The Paleolithics, our foraging ancestors, ate meat, seafood, fruits, vegetables and nuts. They most certainly did not consume dairy products, refined sugars, grains and oils. This diet is packed with vitamins and minerals.
To follow this diet, plenty of foods must be eliminated from your kitchen. Banish all junk food, say farewell to the dairy aisle, forget about anything packaged for freshness and do away with sweets completely except for a little honey. Flavor your meat and veggies with spices or herbs and regain your sense of taste. For your daily intake, eat 55-65 percent animal food, 36-45 percent plants foods. Eschew all else. If this plan seems radical to you, it is not so different from the low-carb diets, or even the sophisticated Mediterranean Diet. It has much in common with the raw food movement.
The diet proclaims to increase energy, promote sleep, help with moods and increase mental dexterity. It promises to rid you of joint pain, sinus problems and almost all forms of body aches. It promises to cure or at least prevent basically all modern afflictions.
The everyday Paleo diet may also save you money. Although it does recommend more costly organic food, especially meat and seafood, think of the cash you will save when the elimination process starts. Once those pricey packages, those expensive sweets, butter, cheeses and wines are no more, your food bill will be light. Yes, no alcohol allowed. But the money you save will get you some very nice steaks, succulent lobsters and the finest greens. Not a bad trade-off.
